Deele College, Raphoe Co. Donegal with architect Siobhán Mc Cafferty

As part of our Architects in Schools programme, transition year students from Deele College will be collaborating with architect Siobhán Mc Cafferty in an exciting design workshop.

Raphoe has an incredibly rich architectural heritage and visual landscape. The project will draw on this heritage to inform and inspire the students’ creative ideas for a modern architectural intervention to be sited in the town centre on the former ‘Diamond’ marketplace. The students design proposals seek to re-engage the public with this large, open area.

“I am learning that architecture involves more than just designing the outside of buildings. The part that I enjoy the most is the walk a round town looking at all the different types of buildings.” (Student)
